Europa Village is looking to fill the position of Controller. This position will oversee the accounting strategy and manage the accounting function. This role will report to the Director of Finance but work closely with the operations function of the company. A successful candidate will have an enthusiastic work ethic. This role will manage and supervise all aspects of accounting from month end close to tax compliance. Experience with retail inventory is a plus for this position.

Position Information:

Responsibilities of Position:

1.     Manage the accounting operations at the Europa Village Winery and Resort.

2.     Manage the month end close process.

3.     Prepare, and report monthly financial package.

4.     Present monthly financial package to management team.

5.     Manage year-end financial GAAP audit and prepare the audited financial statements and disclosures.

6.     Prepare monthly KPI for Europa management.

7.     Manage wine inventory by accurately tracking and recording wine production, and lead in quarterly inventory counts.

8.     Analyze and properly cost all inventories including wine, F&B, and retail.

9.     Prepare, update, and maintain winery standard operating procedures.

10.  Prepare various monthly departmental analysis reports.

11.  Participate in weekly head of department meetings.

12.  Maintain construction in progress workpapers for multiple projects, including cost segregation study workpapers.

13.  Maintain fixed asset schedules.

14.  Maintain capital expenditure schedules.

15.  Monthly analysis of investor and capital balance sheet accounts.

16.  Prepare and record journal entries, including monthly accruals.

17.  Manage the general ledger.

18.  Assist and lead departmental system implementations.

19.  Lead financial review with departmental heads.

20.  Plan and lead year end physical inventory counts.

21.  Assist in preparation of annual I-924A Regional Center Certification.

22.  Other ad-hoc reporting, as needed.

Education & Experience Requirements for Position:

1.     A minimum of BS or BA in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Real Estate Development. A CPA or MBA designation is preferred.

2.     High proficiency in with Excel, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and data management. Strong ability to use and integrate other software tools including Oracle Financial Cloud, MS Office and others.

3.      Strong fluency with Excel, including pivot tables, V-Lookups, complex formulas, and data management. Strong ability to use and integrate other software tools including Oracle Financial Cloud, MS Office and others.

4.     Demonstrated involvement in professional organizations and community.
Compensation: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
